APRIL THEME IS: RESISTANCE
HYBRID SERVICE
April 2: Nin Sharyn Bebeau, “The Magnetism of Resistance”
“What you resist persists.” When you resist your fate, or chocolate, it causes a push pull in your life. Trust and a willingness to work ‘with’, instead of ‘against’, anything or anyone, allows you to relax, and makes the journey through life more peaceful. Nin will be joining us via Zoom
April 9: As the world celebrates the Easter holiday, join us for a special Service shared by our SCUUF members. The egg has long been a symbol of fertility and birth on the earth. Older cultures participated in an “Egg Dance.” Perhaps this was a precursor to our modern egg hunts. Many cultures engage in “circle dances.” Our Fellowship will be sharing two of these dances as a heartfelt honoring of the season. One dance will be done by a few of us, the second dance will be taught to everyone. Both sitting and standing positions will be encouraged.
April 16: Margaret Partner, “Why Resist God?”
Margaret will describe her experience of accepting God’s love through Christ Jesus. She will explain why people resist God because of Christendom’s apostasy.
April 23: Rev. Dr. Ruth Miller, “Resistance and the Spirit”
It’s the end of a sacred season: Passover, Easter, and Ramadan. And, the original Earth Day. Each in their own way, these holy days are acts of Resistance that honor previous acts and pave the way for a future in which such resistance is no longer necessary. Ruth will tie these together and offer us another way to look at resistance—one which has the potential to transform our relationship with the world around us. Rev. Miller will be speaking in person and plans stay for lunch at Tokyo Bistro.
April 30: Sarita Southgate, ” The poetry of Edna St. Vincent Millay”
She was called “daring, seductive and sometimes shockingly candid.” Her poems defined the resistance of Jazz Age and “continue to touch the heart, disturb the intelligence and lodge in the memory.”
